Disinformation: Tbilisi Transport Company will raffle a one-year free travel card
According to the statements made by the Facebook page “Metromoney” on social media (links 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), residents of Georgia can buy a travel card for a minimum price and travel for free for one year.
The post mentions that the citizens of Georgia will be able to purchase a Metromoney transport advertising card and travel by public transport completely free of charge for only 2.84 GEL within the framework of the lottery. According to the information, Tbilisi residents will be able to purchase a card for only $1 to enjoy the same benefits within the offer.
In reality, the Facebook account of “Metromoney” was created on July 1, 2024, and is inauthentic and does not belong to Tbilisi Transport Company. There is no contact information for this Facebook page and it has only 88 likes.
Information about the raffle was first published on the mentioned Facebook page on July 1, 2024. It was soon followed by the announcement of the Tbilisi Transport Company, in which it is claimed that the information spread on social media regarding the raffling of a one-year free travel card of the Tbilisi Transport Company is false.
