Disinformation: Dima Oboladze did not allow Budu Zivzivadze to deliver a speech

Facebook accounts (1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6) disseminated a video on social media in which, as if at a meeting held on July 2, where the footballers of the Georgian national team presented before the citizens, the host of the event and the journalist of the TV company “Imedi”, Dima Oboladze, addressed the football player Budu Zivzivadze with the following words: “You cannot present, you have no speech.” In fact, this information is false, and Dima Oboladze has not responded to Budu Zivzivadze in such a way.

In reality, if we see the full version of the video, it is clear that Budu Zivzivadze and Dima Oboladze are standing on different sides of the stage. When Dima Oboladze says these words, Guram Kashia is making a speech simultaneously on the stage. During Guram Kashia’s speech, Dima Oboladze hands him the microphone and returns to the end of the stage, where the hosts are standing.

Budu Zivzivadze stands behind Guram Kashia and moves between the players, although he did not reach the end of the stage where Dima Oboladze is standing, therefore, Oboladze’s reply was not addressed to him.

Dima Oboladze responded to the information with a video, where he denied the widespread claim that Budu Zivzivadze was limited to deliver a speech: “Everything has a limit, nothing like this has ever happened. I have not even had much contact with Budu. I may have told someone else. Levan Kobiashvili was supposed to make a speech, but he didn’t, and maybe I asked him, I remember asking him if he was giving a speech, and he said no. What did I say to Budu?! What do you make up? – It’s nonsense. You can talk to Budu himself”, said Dima Oboladze.

Budu Zivzivadze’s father, Kakha Zivzivadze, also responded to the claim spread virally on social media and stated that he checked with Budu and Dima Oboladze did not say anything like that to him: “Friends, I asked Budu and Dima Oboladze did not say those words to him. Thank you for loving Budu. Let’s be fair.” – we read in the Facebook post.

Later, Budu Zivzivadze also replied and said: “It’s stupid and leave that person alone. If someone says something bad about Dima, I think they should apologize to him, because there was no such fact.”

It should be noted that after Dima Oboladze’s statement, Budu Zivzivadze, and his father, several accounts on social media corrected the previously published erronous information. (1; 2)

Therefore, the claim that Dima Oboladze did not allow Budu Zivzivadze to make a speech is false.
